Commenting on Socrative

Thank you for the information about Socrative.  I will check it out.  I am in the process of creating a pre-post test that students can take digitally so it is automatically recorded and graded.  What a concept!  I am tired of grading paper tests!!!  I am currently using Google Forms, but I am stuck.  I need to figure out how to add photos into the form so students can answer questions based on the image.  Is anyone aware how this might get accomplished in Google Forms?

Everyone should go to Socrative either an app or on your PC because you can make digital assessments and send them to your kids then you can get the grades sent right to you. It's AWESOME!

K Teel and J Alderson

Kathleen Teel and Jan Alderson spent our time browsing lots of different websites such as Weebly, edmodo, google and many others.  Jan set up a new Weebly and edmodo account.

We exchanged emails because we decided to stay in touch to exchange ideas.

Social Injustice Project

Last year was my first year teaching.  In my English 2 class, my students did a Social Injustice group project.  They researched and explored about a type of injustice (gender, social class, race/ethnicity, etc.), and the students shared research with their group.  Then, they each did part of a group presentation: oral presentation, posterboard, pamphlet, or a letter to someone who can change the injustice.

Today, I gained ideas to add multi-media options to this project.  I will now include options such as iMovie, podcasts, etc. for students to have as their project assessment.  I also learned about a website where they can search for ideas for more authentic service projects that will "match" their injustice.

Senior Health Portfolio

By the time each senior graduates from high school they are expected to have a portfolio representing their years in high school.  The final portfolio includes accomplishments, struggles, products, and other milestones from high school.  We worked today to create a template on Google site that students can gather their info and put together their final product.
